According to Digitimes, TSMC's 5nm process is still showing big orders. Apple, Qualcomm, MediaTek, Nvidia and other heavyweight customers are expanding their orders for 5nm wafer production. TSMC has decided to plan the second 3nm long-term Nanke 18th factory. The seventh factory in the period will first be moved out to support 5nm orders.
Seven major customers, including AMD, MediaTek, Broadcom, NVIDIA and Intel, are vying for TSMC's long-term capacity, covering popular areas such as 5G and high-performance computing. Since TSMC's advanced manufacturing process is in a leading position in terms of mass production scale and yield rate, customers are pursuing orders to expand their adoption, locking in 7nm (including 6nm) and 5nm (including 4nm) processes.
According to a survey by research firm statista, TSMC's top three customers last year were Apple (25.4%), AMD (9.2%) and MediaTek (8.2%). The industry estimates that TSMC's fourth to seventh largest customers account for little difference. The ranking is estimated to be Broadcom, Nvidia, Qualcomm and Intel. It is expected that TSMC's revenue will account for 7% to 8% this year. Among them, NVIDIA has the most significant growth, which is expected to increase significantly from 5.8% last year.
